Well, as I've said in previous blogs, I have decided to make some changes in my life. Do new things, think new thoughts. Here is a summary of what I've done so far...the list isn't huge, because it took me a few days to get myself sorted, but I will give a few of the more exciting ones.
_Last Thursday I dyed my hair dark brown. Yes, BROWN. It's beautiful. I love it. I am so happy with it. I feel like I should have never been blonde. It feels so natural and it shows a more mature side of myself. I feel like it sets me on a path towards a new me, and is an excellent move towards an amazing senior year.
_This weekend, I wore huge sunglasses to the Bumbershoot. HUGE BUG GLASSES. I mean, fashionable of course, but definately bigger than I ever have. I've been playing the mysterious girl around town and it's very fun. Dark hair, dark glasses, pale skin (no sunshine this august...booo) and so far it's feelin pretty good.
_Today, I am doing something that doesn't just involve myself with apperance issues. Well, it kinda does, but is better than the first two. Today, I am going to go through my clothes and get rid of at least 10 things. I really don't wear everything I own, and I imagine other people would get much more use out of these things than my closet does. I want to really take inventory of my clothing and other things and ask myself WHY I have these things. What are they doing for my well being? Probably not much. I want to think about why I bought these things, was I happy when I bought them, or was I trying to mask stress or sadness? Then, I want to take those things, and give them positive blessings. I do not want any of my clothes being sent away with angry feelings attached. Then they will go to Goodwill or some other store that sounds good, and I will pray somebody gets better use out of them than I did.
So, that's my life in a nutshell right now. I'm determined to make positive decisions that will give me no regrets for my last year at PLU. My summer is full of regrets and sadness, and I never want to re-live those experiences. I want to start fresh and really accept myself and my life as beautiful and worthwhile.
